This work marks my first experience using an industrial knitting machine. Learning how to program a pattern translating text into stitches brought me back to the very beginning of my practice, to the place where making first entered my life. The process echoed the way my mother taught me to work with my hands, to trust repetition, patience, and care. The piece becomes both a technical experiment and a personal message, woven in acknowledgment of her ­presence and the distance that has grown between us.

Diese Arbeit ist meine erste Erfahrung mit einer industriellen Strickmaschine. Das Erlernen der Musterprogrammierung und das Übersetzen von Worten in Maschen führten mich zurück zu den Anfängen meiner Praxis. Der Prozess erinnerte an die Art und Weise, wie meine Mutter mir den Umgang mit den Materialien beigebracht hat: durch ­Wiederholung und Geduld. Das Werk ist sowohl ein technisches Experiment als auch eine persönliche Botschaft, eingewebt als Anerkennung ihrer Nähe und der Distanz, die zwischen uns entstanden ist.
